At Fridays fundraiser party in Krakow we announced that our friends, families and fans have raised about 1800 Euros of donations during the last four weeks. Through our contacts in the Mali Health Organizing Project we have decided to do the following with the money:
We in Copernica Adventures would like to thank all of you who have donated to the project. It is great to see that we can make a difference, and we look forward to reporting back to you when we finally meet our new friends in Bamako. This is what we have. 3700 Items ready to be packed. Detailed list and pictures below.
10 Blood pressure measurement kits. With cuff, manometer and unattached stethoscope. Surgical tools; scissors, kocher clamps, scalpels, sutures etc. NG-tubes, 700 compresses, 360 meters of bandage, 300 tongue depressors, 100 spatulas, lots of adhesive bandages. 75 Foley catheters, some with lubricant, and also an extra box of prepared lubricant syringes. NG-tubes for adults with cap. Three various sizes - all in all 180 tubes Continous positive airways pressure (CPAP) machine running on 220V Microscope with selection of diopters (thank you, Bernt and Mette) 600 Single use gloves, 12 prefilled lubricant syringes Four Accu-Check glucometers with 500 strips. We also have two glucometers from MediSense (Thank you, Mike) Single use plastic speculums. 100 small, 100 medium, 100 large 34 perilaryngeal airway tubes in various sizes from neonate to adult 120 Sutures, various sizes 7 mercury thermometers. They said they were the last in Poland! We finally found some hermetic barrels at Castorama for transporting all the equipment on the roofrack. Packing them required good planning. Snug fit! All packed and ready for loading!
